Lonely Soldier

I can imagine

how lonely a soldier must feel

miles and miles away

with no lover

with no phone call

under a bed of different blankets

but at least the same sky

Soldiers put up a good fight when they must

and that too, I can agree that I have discussed

to myself

by myself

when battling surgeries and a genetic disease

with no lover

under a bed with different blankets

but at least the same sun

I can imagine how lonely it must feel

coming home from war

seeing loved ones once again

uncaged and unmasked

unsurveillanced and unjudged

free and serene

experienced and saved

under the same stars

I can see it

and I too live it

under the same solar system

beneath the same blanket of stars

imagination with no limits

manifesting life

with virtue and discipline,

no need to be lonely, Soldier.
